The seventh edition of Concerti delle Abbazie takes place from 29 July to 26 agosto 2021, in some of the most fascinating places in the Valley of the Abbeys, in the province of Teramo, involving cultural heritage sites of interest, local historical and architectural such as the Abbeys of San Giovanni ad Insulam, Santa Maria di Hum, San Salvatore, Santa Maria di Propezzano and San Clemente.
The new edition of the festival will also be an opportunity to re-discover new locations such as the Belvedere terrace, the Santo Spirito Theater in Cellino Attanasio and the wonderful ducal city of Atri. New this year, interactive routes with QR code with musical curiosities, naturalistic and artistic cultural, made in collaboration with the FAI – Provincial Delegation of Teramo and the Ruzzo Reti aqueduct company.
Il programma 2021 it is full of events dedicated mainly to jazz: from bebop to swing, from Latin to contaminations with the author's song up to symphonic reinterpretations and electronic experiments, the programming features the best musicians on the current music scene. Programming 2021, in addition to the valuable collaboration with the Abruzzese Symphonic Institution, is enriched with international artists such as the famous singer Kelly Joyce and the Grammy Artist Paul Wertico, and historic drummer of Pat Metheny.
Abbazia Jazz Club is also a new format in collaboration with the Abbey of Propezzano, an exclusive moment that allows you to experience the beauty of our territory even more intensely thanks to the encounter between music, art and food and wine.
Between novelty of the edition 2021, the “Opening Concerts” born in collaboration with the “G. Braga ”in Teramo and aimed at promoting young talents from the Abruzzo region.
The festival remains a point of reference for all local communities in the Teramo hinterland and represents a moment of enhancement and rediscovery of sites generally excluded from traditional tourist routes and heavily marked by disastrous seismic events.
The concerts will take place outdoors and all activities will be carried out in compliance with anti-Covid19 regulations, in accordance with the provisions of the Abruzzo Region and the National Authorities.
To ensure social distancing according to the anti-Covid19 containment and prevention measures, the festival's artistic direction has also studied specific solutions for each location, in order to guarantee the highest level of safety for the public.
